Insist on yourself. Never imitate. - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Sorry again for the late blog post, I went out to drink (water in my case) with a couple of my Crossfit buddies. I am going to keep this short and sweet, because I need my beauty rest. I have an early appointment tomorrow morning then I'm on my way up to New York to play some golf with my uncle and cousins, and then pick up my dad and hang out for a couple days. I probably won't be blogging the next couple of days, there is no phone/internet reception up there, so it will be very hard.
Anyways, here is the lineup for the day:
Breakfast
3 Egg Cupcakes (Megan made this up, it has egg whites, lean turkey bacon, onions, mushrooms, and spinach)
Banana
Snack
Fruit Salad with Strawberries, Blueberries and Grapes
Lunch
Leftover Chicken Cacciatore
Leftover Mashed Cauliflower
Snack
Handful of Almonds
Dinner
Ground Turkey cooked with minced Garlic and topped with Salsa
Steamed Carrots, Cauliflower and Broccoli
Sorry again for the short post, but it's way past my bedtime. Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable 4th of July weekend!

ReplyDeleteJohn, not sure if you find yourself hungry throughout the day, or how your energy is, (everything seems to be going pretty well from your entries) but you might want to talk to Jay/Micah about adding fat in. Good: nuts/seeds like almonds, walnuts, and their butters (almond butter and sunbutter are popular amongst crossfitters), Better: olive oil, macadamia nuts, animal fat (preferably from grass fed animals) Best: avocado, coconut oil.
ReplyDeleteAs your body gets away from using processed carbohydrates for quick shots of energy, it will use the fat in your diet for energy. I wouldn't be as concerned if you had fattier meats, but lean turkey or chicken won't cut it. Some might say that animal fat and fat in general will lead to getting fat, but it's simply not true (aside from a major overload of calories from fat), and you also don't need to worry about "clogging your arteries." My caloric intake is 60% fat and triglycerides are 31 (under 150 is considered good). Post about it here: http://chrispconstantlyvaried.blogspot.com/2010/03/proof-is-in-numbers.html
Have a fun weekend son. Drive safely. Again, good job today.
ReplyDeleteYaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's my Grandlyson.
Keep up the good work.
And a safe holiday to you and Megan.
